Fran Roy Scholarship

Scholarship Opportunity for Local Community-Minded Students

This scholarship, established in 2004, and officially named the Fran Roy Memorial Scholarship in 2016, is in memory of one of TEEG’s founding members – Frances (Fran) Roy.

Fran served TEEG, holding all officer positions, and a seat on the Board of Directors for 26 years. The Fran Roy Memorial Scholarship is designed to honor graduating students who have excelled in the areas of community activism through work in their schools and communities, qualities that Fran herself embodied. Any student who wishes to pursue higher education and who resides in Thompson, Woodstock, or Pomfret is eligible to apply.

Applications are available from January through March each year and can be found in the Guidance Departments at the following schools: The Pomfret School, Woodstock Academy, Tourtellotte Memorial High School, Marianapolis Preparatory School, Harvard H. Ellis Technical School, and Killingly High School. Please keep in mind that this scholarship is open to students who reside in Thompson, Woodstock or Pomfret and attend one of these schools. Applications are also available at the TEEG office.
